Thomas Affleck, III is the founding partner of Affleck & Gordon, P.C. A cum laude graduate of Emory University in 1970, Tom received his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center in 1973. He was a former managing attorney for Georgia Legal Services in Brunswick, Georgia. Tom and his colleagues were instrumental in assisting local community citizens and their efforts were chronicled in a best-selling book, Praying for Sheetrock.
After spending three years serving a 17-county area in Southeast Georgia, he relocated to Atlanta and opened his private law firm. He also served as a former Administrative Law Judge and was a Hearing Officer for a variety of State Agencies.
Tom has received an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He served as a past president and former long-time member of the Board of Directors of the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia. Tom is a current member of the Georgia Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, the DeKalb Bar Association, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR).
